Family Law Information Centre
The Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) is an excellent resource for anyone needing information about any aspect of separation and divorce. The FLIC for Toronto’s Superior Court of Justice is located at 393 University Avenue, Suite 900 (9th floor), Toronto, Ontario M5G 1E6.
The FLIC has court staff available to help answer any questions about the court process. We also have an Information and Referral Coordinator (IRC) at the FLIC, to help you navigate the many challenges of separation and divorce. IMPORTANT NOTE: THE IRC IS NOT A LAWYER AND DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE. LEGAL AID ADVICE COUNSEL ARE AVAILABLE AT THE FLIC FOR LEGAL ADVICE.
Our IRCs provide information on a wide range of issues related to separation and divorce, child protection, dispute resolution, and resources in the community. They can:
- Help clients assess and determine their procedural needs
- Refer clients to advice or duty counsel and legal aid resources
- Refer clients to appropriate community agencies
- Direct clients to useful publications
- Help clients access on-site and off-site mediation services where appropriate
- Provide information about resources, programs, and services that are available in the community to help clients in the process of separation or divorce
- Assist clients in gaining access to resources, programs and services in the community that assist clients in the process of separation or divorce
- Assist clients who wish to attend a voluntary Information Programme
